In Poland, EXPOSIM partner the Central Institute for Labour Protection – National Research Institute (CIOP-PIB) has established a strategic cooperation with ELWOZ ECO, a company operating in the waste management sector. This collaboration focuses on advancing occupational health and safety standards in waste sorting plants, where workers are routinely exposed to a combination of physical, chemical and biological hazards.

Monitoring Firefighter Health and Exposure Across Europe

In EXPOSIM, exposure-reducing and health-promoting interventions in firefighters (WP9) is investigating occupational hazards faced by fire services in Europe and assessing the effectiveness of preventative measures. This comprehensive effort draws on studies established in several countries, including Belgium (KU Leuven), Portugal (NOVA), and Denmark (NRCWE).
